The process

From worn out to brand new

01. Drain & Inspect

We drain your pool completely and inspect the shell, plumbing, and existing finish. Any hollow spots, cracks, or delamination get flagged before a single chip flies - so your new finish goes onto a sound foundation.

02. Chip Out & Prep

Failing plaster is chipped out by hand and machine, edges are keyed around fittings and tile, and the shell is pressure-washed clean. Preparation is where cheap replasters fail - we refuse to rush it.

03. Bond Coat

A bonding layer is rolled across the entire shell so your new finish fuses to the old gunite instead of just sitting on it. This is the difference between a finish that lasts 3 years and one that lasts 10+.

04. Hand-Applied Finish

Your chosen plaster, quartz, or pebble finish is mixed on-site and hand-troweled by our in-house crew - no subcontractors. Every radius, step, and bench gets finished to the same standard.

05. Fill, Balance & Cure Care

We refill immediately to protect the fresh finish, balance the startup chemistry, and walk you through the critical 28-day cure - brushing schedule included. Then it’s swim time.

Finish options

Premium Pool Finish Options

Pool plaster has a lifespan of 10–20 years depending on chemistry and usage. When you start seeing staining, rough texture, or the plaster chipping - it's time for a resurfacing. Serenity Pools offers several finish options to fit every style and budget.

Our application team preps the surface properly, applies the finish in controlled layers, and fills and balances the pool correctly so your new surface cures beautifully and lasts for years.

Classic plaster

Standard white & colored plaster - the timeless, budget-friendly finish with a smooth feel.

Quartz aggregate

Quartz-blended finishes with richer color, more sparkle, and longer life than plain plaster.

Pebble & exposed aggregate

The premium, natural-texture finish - maximum durability and a lagoon-style look.

How Long It Takes

A typical replastering project takes 5–10 days from drain to refill. We manage the entire process including chemical startup so your water is perfect from day one.

Good to know

Replastering questions, answered

How do I know it's time to replaster?
Rough texture that scratches skin, persistent staining that won't clean off, visible cracks, or chalky white deposits are all signs your plaster needs replacement.
What's the difference between plaster, quartz, and pebble?
Standard plaster is the most affordable and offers a smooth, classic look. Quartz adds durability and sparkle. Pebble finishes are the most durable and have a natural, textured look that hides minor staining beautifully.
Can I change the color of my pool?
Yes - replastering is the perfect time to change your pool's color entirely. We'll show you finish samples and help you choose.
How long does replastering last?
Standard plaster typically lasts 10–15 years. Quartz and pebble finishes can last 15–25 years with proper chemistry.
